The English Preparatory School (EPS) gave its fourth Proficiency and Level Tests at the Egyptian American Language Centre (EALC) in Alexandria, Egypt on the 25th and 26th of February, 2008. Sixty-one Egyptian students were given tests during these two days in different language features and skills. Upon the grading of the tests, these students are given an EPS/EMU certificate, which assist them in applying for jobs in Egypt. Sezgi Yalin, an EPS teacher trainer and Amira Madkour, the academic co-coordinator of EALC, initiated the protocol between EPS and EALC after their meeting in 2006 at the American University in Cairo.
Following the test, at the same centre, Sezgi Yalin also gave fifty Egyptian primary school teachers from Alexandria a workshop on teaching young learners. During the same trip, after being invited by Richmond/Heinle publishing, Yalin gave another workshop to pre-school Egyptian teachers at the Continental Language School in Cairo.
